Jodie Manross.

Her voice is incredible and her songs come from her beautiful soul. I have known Jodie for some time, and only recently heard her wonderful music. WOW!!! You can find her singing in many local venues, and across the nation from time to time. Her music is on iTunes and Amazon's MP3 store. She is an incredible person, brilliant acupuncturist , and a very wonderful musician. :violin

Nathan:

I love these two, but deliberately didn't put up any links to them here...:D

But now that you started it, here's one of my favourites:

They've been getting a lot of ink lately, in the Wall Street Journal, and other media, as they try to transition to mainstream material. The head of Warner's has been advising them. I hope this will work for them, because there is always the risk of alienating the loyal fan base.

Oh, and you're still young enough to be a hipster. :ha

Hey, why not? This thread isn't strictly limited to vaguely-country, or easy-listening, artists as the past few pages suggests. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

This Ain't Your Father's Roxy Music...

Bryan Ferry Orchestra - "Slave To Love"

Interesting project by Mr. Ferry. This album has been playing a lot at my place -- even my teen-aged son has dialed into it.

Thank you. That was delightful. I've always been a Roxy/Ferry fan.

Nathan: In the spirit of your broadening our musical base, let me offer this:

Nice foot work! Always good stuff. My "classical" (actually baroque, romantic, and classical) music collection rivals my modern music collection.

Although not something to "jam" to, here are two few pieces I will be playing at a classical guitar recital soon. This isn't me in the videos, though.

The last repeated section before the D.C. al Fine has one of my absolutely favorite guitar pieces to play since learning it 6 years ago:
