Question Final drive: "old style" or EVO?

I have an '04 1150 RT and wonder if there's a way to tell which F/D is on the bike by it's manufacture date.

    Anyone know?

If its an 1150 it is the "old style" as the "Evo" was introduced with the R1200's

That's kind of what I thought when I first saw the OP. Not much need to check serial numbers!

I'm a relative newbie to the R bikes (bought my R12R a year-and-a-half ago). I found the ON magazine article about final drive failures very informative, but I was a little confused by the terminology. Does anyone know where I can find some solid photographs and/or schematics of a partially disassembled final drive (either EVO or "old" design)?
