Thanks for the speedo cable info!!! Working on the harness right now. I'll have to think about just replacing the pushrod seals, or living with the oil seepage untill this winter, then do like you said and replace rings, and rod bearings.
Here's a picture of the new addition, look at the angle iron for the light mounts, that's coming off soon.
Where is a good place to get airhead parts for a G/S, as I don't feel the need ($$$) to go to the dealer, especialy on a bike this age.
Also after putting in the new wiring harness, the starter doesn't work, and since I don't have a workshop manual yet, I'm not sure where to check on the wiring. I assume there is a starter relay, but which one???
