rear brake issue

I have a 2003 k1200gt with 20k miles. Recently I had the dealer bleed the entire brake system and replace the fluid, as well as change the rear pads. Tonight at the end of a 60 mile ride, I applied the rear brake and felt a nasty pulsing and grating. After coming to a complete stop with both brakes, it went away, then came back again. Thoughts??

Better check those rear pads, something might not have gone well. You said it was a grating sound, that can spoil an expensive rotor really quick. Rear pads wear out quicker than many people think and in my experience do not wear as evenly as fronts.

less than 500 miles

I would expect the grating/pulsing to be consistent, but it wasn't.

And the rear pads have less than 500 miles on them!!

Sticky

Something is obviously sticking and breaking loose etc. I didn't mean the new pads would be worn, but possibly the mounting pins are not in correct, is the caliper bolted tight? Something is wrong and needs to be looked at before it locks up or something.
