I remember Dad had a whole deck of gasoline credit cards back in the 60's (pre-VISA, I think). Usually, each one listed 6-8 other brands on the back where the cards could be accepted out of state. Often the logos were similar. It was a kind of road game to find a station to match.

I worked at Exxons Houston HQ in the mid 70's as a printing press operator. There were so many Exxon Enco Esso changeovers to a LOT of printed materials depending on where in the world it was headed.
The building was originally the Humble Building and was hard for many to call it Exxon.The town of Humble is just north of Houston, now swallowed by the burbs
Have used this old 5 gal pail for oily shop towels for a " few years", was out of my grandfathers garage
