Central Cal here:)

Leaving Clovis, early Saturday morning before rally week, riding two bikes; R1200GSAdventure and '08 KLR650 Kawasaki(my wife). We will run 70-75 mostly with new KLR650 in gang. It runs quite well at these speeds, even to 80mph...We always depart Yosemite NP, just to our North and we have no route planned as yet from there. We camp, almost always:). Ely, Nevada is a "favorite" first night of ours from home, at the KOA Campground there. Great grassy, quiet sites! Meet there if anybody wishes:). Ely is 525 from Clovis, a fair day and a great town for a rest stop, evening...The old casino's are especially good there in Ely, food,etcetc..If any S.Cal riders want to share the trails, for a ways eastbound, come along. We even have room to spare for campers(shady tree type:)) at our house, for overnighting. Mini horse ranch here, 12 miles east of Clovis. Sierra Foothill property:). Coming this way, stop in for the evening, or we'll meet out on the road. Happy Trails, Randy"Polarbear"13233:D

Here's my current plan from Fresno:

395 is a nice road, I'm tired of traipsing across Nevada, and there are hot springs in Lakeview, OR:

Havn't been there, but I'm giving it a go.

Route across Wyoming depends on Beartooth being open.

thanks, Arla, I was just in Fresno on business this Monday. It's an easy ride from here. I'm still not sure if I'm going. I'm considering just going to Paonia the next week.

Nevada:)

We never retrace our paths, so we either go across Nevada going to rally, or coming back home. We'll do some kind of loop north, most probably in one of the directions:). Ely is still is one of the best overnight spots over there in high desert land. They get some "serious rain/hail storms" too, about that time of year(July), around the Ely Mountain Ranges nearby. I've ridden through many of them, knowing so well what I speak:). Please remember this town, as I know many who do the same stopover repeatedly, crossing the country. Its a biker friendly town. Agreed, Polarbear - I like Ely, twice now I've stayed at their old Hotel Nevada, it's basic but historic and incredibly cheap. I think I paid under $25 with tax!

We may!

Statdawg, we may get out Friday, but most probably Saturday about sunrise(530AM) and out through YosemiteNP. Its a regular departure route for me, going through Yosemite, as I'm very Central CA., in Clovis. If you are near, call559-323-6780H,559-288-2555C and we can have you meet us, or even spend the night at our place. Our day out of here will be a very early sunrise depart. We are riding GSA1200'07 and KLR650'08, Gini rides. Speed will be somewhat limited to the KLR ability to cruise around 70-75 and its new, but will be broke in by then:). ARLA, Fresno? What are you riding? We'll keep a watch for you, too. Randy"Polarbear"

You're welcome here:)

We live right below Sequioa/Kings canyon NP's(40 miles) and Yosemite is very close too at 100. You get in my area and need self service to the bike(s), in my garage, which is bike friendly with full sized bike lift, etcetc..Tire changer and all the tools, too! Stop by:). We also have a BMW dealer, about 15 miles away from me. You can rest here a day or so too and sightsee our surrounding National Parks, so very closeby. I live at the base of the Sierra Mountains(foothill horse property) and welcome any fellow BMW, etc. touring riders. Horses here too, as we have large critters in our family:). I know NE Pennsylvania, Scranton, Wilkes Barre and many more towns of the area there. I used to work that region over 30 years ago! Virginia is my home state. Randy"Polarbear"
