My daily commuter is an '01 Dakar. Not problems at all. Good around town bike and good off road. Easy to work on. My '01 is a single spark and returns around 52 mpg. I believe the later models, the dual sparks, get even better gas mileage - like in the 70s. Additionally, the Chain Gang faq is a great resource for doing your own wrenching. I have stopped visiting the forum because of all the drama there, but the faq can really be a help.
