Are the 02 r1150rs having any more problems than the rest? Just wondering whether to keep it or trade it in. I only have 30,000 miles on it now.

I just turned ~47,500 on my '03 (really an '02 carry-over built 7/02). The only real issue I've had was a recent final drive bearing wear issue around 45,000. Not a unique problem to the 1150R though.

36k on a 2002 r1150ra. i'm riding it to 100k. no problems so far.

If it puts a smile on your face, why change?

brad - some people are not comfortable with the fact the 2002 r1150r (in black) is the best frickin' motorcycle to own. period. there is no debate. some people try to argue this, but r1150r owners cannot hear them over the adulation of their numerous fans. the boost that this motorcycle provides to one's looks and intelligence is very discomfiting for some people. owning the bike causes a soundtrack to be added to your life that is a mashup of the matrix and fight club. people admire them and children write essays declaring that when they grow up they want to be an r1150r owner.

this condition causes some to seek other, lesser bikes.

(this is what i tell myself when i walk past a shiny, purty r1200rt which i would love to take and put 50k miles on it in one year. (which would make me half the woman ardys is, but i'd be ok with that.))

39k on mine (fastest Blue one)
The only problem I have had is a burned out license plate bulb! Although...
...I seem to burn the tires off it before I would like to

Knocking profusely on wood....

29000 miles on my Queen Latifah. She's never let me down. Installed a bunch of Farkles ofer the winter including heated Sargent seats, Pirate's Lair backrest, Odyssey Battery.

Handles like a dream. Nice and nimble.

In addition to the above mentioned farkles I have system cases, rear brake light strobe, PIAA 1100X under the oil coolers.

Before I installed the Sargent I had a Luftwaffe motif.

Last winter I binned the stoopid clock and installed an oil temp gauge in its place.
