John H. Kerr Dam - Virginia / North Carolina

Not only a day ride, but my first day ride on my newly acquired 2005 R1200ST. A little getting used to the riding position and feel a trip to the grip risers store is in the near future, but love it so far. I am sure this will just be a stepping stone up to a different model.

Congratulations on your new ride. Nice day to tour Kerr. I need to get back down there. Looks you were on the south shore?

Short trip to Roman Nose State Park, Oklahoma. It's a really small state park west of OKC that has a really challenging golf course (so I am told, I don't golf). Another small state park I like to visit is Red Rock Canyon. Both are short rides from my home.

Wow, what a cool park! I did not stop there on my way through to Texas a couple years ago but wish I would have since I was quite close to OKC at the time. I see by Google Street View that highway 51A and the park road are nicely paved all the way in so easily accessible to anyone on two wheels. Thank you for posting.

Ride before the storm.....

Waiting to cross the tracks on a 36 degree day in Montana, heavy snow forecast for tomorrow.

We have had some nice weather lately. It was much colder and windier up there than I anticipated, but it was still a great day. Visibility was fantastic. Interestingly, traffic was very light and we never saw another motorcycle.
