Chilly temperatures kept the size of the contingent for our annual Death Valley ride down to about a dozen hardy souls. Low 30s leaving Las Vegas but warming nicely to 50 degrees as we approached sea level. No better way to start a New Year than a ride with friends.
Rode down to the Lake Gaston/Kerr Lake area near the Virginia-North Carolina state line today. Tugboat Dan was built in 1937 and spent some of her years in service on Kerr Lake. She was retired in 1992. The /5 has another 14 years to go to match the 55 years Dan was in operation.
