R1200C Driver Backrest

Does anyone ride a R1200C or have info on using a driver backrest with a large passenger seat? Essentially having two backrests. I know Corbin and a couple others offer this but I've seen stock BMW's with a modification of some sort. Thanks

I have a Montauk which came with a small stock passenger seat. I bought the larger passenger seat with the chrome handrail from BMW which is nice. The Montauk's stock seat does not flip up like other 1200 Cs. So I contacted my local BMW store and the set up was around $800. I thought a bit steep since I just spent over $2000 on seats and bags. I found a website called the Beemer Boneyard. He set me up with the flip up rear seat, which doubles as a backrest, for under $300. All I had to do was get it repainted to match my bike. The Beemer Boneyard was great and easy to deal with.

Enjoy!

Backrest

I had a G and G driver's backrest on my Montana version C. I also bought the oversized passenger backrest for my wife (made by a chromehead member). I liked the backrest definitely added to the comfort (along with the RM seats I had made.

Hi Brian,

The passenger comfort seat can be modified so you can keep the drivers backrest in place. Of course it won't be able to flip down, and you'll need to add some sort of backrest for the passenger.

I modified my flip up with a larger pad and added a ZTechnik passenger backrest. There are several options, lots of good info over at chromeheads. See you there.
