Bleeding K75S front brake with ABS

Is there a special trick to bleeding brakes with ABS, I accidentally let the fluid container go dry when replacing the fluid and since then it does not feel right, I have probably pumped a quart through them, is there any chance I need to bleed the ABS pump? and if so how do i do that?

There is a bleed valve on top of each ABS unit. I forget which is front but I think it is the one on the left side. Bleed here first and when you have clean fluid and no bubbles proceed to the wheel calipers. To get the last of the air out you may need to remove the wheel, fully retract the caliper pistons, block the pistons so they stay retracted, and finish bleeding the system. I use tapered wood shims (several) to block the pistons fully back.

Paul is correct - it's the left side modulator for the front brake.

I experienced problems bleeding the front when I installed a system on the FY-K100RT. Found that a pressure bleeder made the job easy.. but that might be a bit of a chore to build just for one time use.

Smile This answers my ABS bleeding question, too---thanks!

Just found this old thread after trying a search for "bleeding K75S ABS brakes" via the main search bar at the top of the page (it didn't use to work for a long time so I quit using it; obviously someone at MOA fixed it while I was "away").

Anyhoo, this brief thread answers my question I had in another thread where I was wondering about depressurizing the ABS system and so on. It seems that all I need to do when I bleed my system is start at the left (front ) ABS modulator and go from there to the calipers afterwards.

While I'll still use caution, I suppose it's safe to assume that the ABS 1 system on our old Ks is not pressurized and I should be able to bleed the pots in the same manner as if I'm bleeding from the caliper nipples...
