I've got one and it rocks. One connector. I have the LED light above my gauges and I think that's all you need. It has saved me a few times now.

I would be interested in some empirical test data. It sure does look like a nifty package at a reasonable price but a poor detector is no bargain. I use a Valentine One with the wireless helmet remote H.A.R.D LED display on my motorcycle and it works great. I also have a newer Escort that I keep in a car but have stopped using because it is near worthless (even in a car) due to poor range. The Escort would be a disaster on a bike.

I bought one about 3 weeks ago. Easy to install. Direct connect to the battery terminals with the supplied wiring bound into a manageable bundle and left under the battery cover of my '07 K1200GT. The visual output goes to an LED module that mounts over my ROP (rate of progress) indicator. The unit is waterproof - they say water resistant - but I've had it rain heavily on the unit and no problem. The direct connect to the battery means that I have to turn the unit ON and OFF manually - after starting and before shutdown.
The mode selection includes a HIGHWAY mode that screens out nothing. CITY mode excludes everything except X and the CITY NO-X mode screens out that. I am very happy. The unit on my bike is mounted using their (Adaptiv's) handlebar mount. The mount works perfectly mounted on the right side of the left grip. I've got a couple of the Z-Tech mirror mounts in a box next to me but I think I'll use those for something else.
The unit is mounted very POSITIVELY - that is to say, if it clicks, it's not going anywhere. But you can take it off the mount very easily when it suits.
I would recommend it without reservation.

I purchased this device and have used it for about 6,000 miles including travel through Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, SD, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and ND. So, I have had it awake for all sorts of Highway Patrol folks, County types and Barney Fifes. I like the unit and it has saved me quite a few times already, most recently a few days ago when a county type was tailing a car as they both approached me on a rural state highway. The device got a whiff of his radar as he seemed to try and hide behind the other car. I slowed down in time, just barely. I have had the device detect K-band as far as 3-4 miles away. Not sure if it has picked up a laser or not. I am not a speed demon but tend to drive a little faster in the rural and more sparse areas. I leave mine set on HWY even in the city. I want it sensitive. I tend to drive at posted speeds in towns and places where there are people not wanting to cause harm. It is more easy for enforcement types to hide in these areas and go "instant on" as well. I have also noticed that the device does a pretty good job of picking up radar from trailing patrols as well from the side. I am no expert on this type of device but I think the things works pretty darn well. I didn't install it myself. It would be nice if it could be on and off with the key. Not sure if that is possible or not.
I think the device actually makes me drive a little slower and more safe, knowing how many unmarked folks there are out there.
It is easy to clip on and off and seems to be quite weather tight. I used a technics mount I think. It needs to be tightened. My wife hates the looks of it on my GS but she will just have to live with it. It is up pretty high, above the gauges, but that makes it work better. I think these things work better behind a plastic windshield and also better through a windshield that is clear rather than smoked. Mine is clear plastic and perhaps that helps it functionality.

My wife hates the looks of it on my GS but she will just have to live with it. It is up pretty high, above the gauges, but that makes it work better. Given the results, it looks only slightly better than a Cobra (bottom of the line) detector. It is the only (claimed) weatherproof unit however, and does offer unique features increasing its utility for use on motorcycles.
