What are you listening to today?

Richard Thompson Oops, I Did It Again
Patricia Barber If I Were Blue
Tom Waits Romeo Is Bleeding
Jill Sobule Bitter
The Who You Better You Bet
Nina Simone Feeling Good

Dire Straits, "Ride Across the River" just came on the Zen (MP3 player)

Hey on another thread this image would be exploitive and inappropriate for this forum. Shame. The forum police will be on this one soon

But I'm listening to Sonny Rollins: The Quartets featuring Jim Hall from 1962

Hmm, I had have to say this is pretty tame in comparison to what seems to float JK boat. No doubt it was Hot back in the days when "Full Stereo" was the hotest thing out there recording wise, but by today's standards, well..... besides she look a lot more "real" than those plastic fantasies JK's been known to post. somehow I don't think we have to worry too much about this one!

Start the day with Sports talk.. to catch up on all the daily TN Titans, SEC and maybe a little baseball sports dribble and then a little NPR to see if the world's still turning... and then the new Springstein CD....Majic... Really Good !

But I gotta add, although I have not listened to this in awhile.. I totally love Lucinda Williams - Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. That is such a gutsty and great album.

OH god! Does that bring back some memories!! My Sister wore out who knows how many copies of that album back in the 60's! she'd used to pretend to be the star and dance around and sing and would pester me to take pictures of her "performing" Ha Ha!

In self-defence I'd turn up my stereo and play my "The Three Penny Opera" album at full blast (wore out a few copies of that one myself) til our Mom would send us to our rooms, Without our record players! Ha Ha!

I LOVE WEst Side Story - one of my favorite movies of all time! Tonight, however, we'll be listening to Roger Hodgson (with a symphony orchestra) at Casino Rama. WOOT!!

Blackfoot

Went back a few years and was listening to a Best of Blackfoot cd I found. Also my daughter put our Chris Botti cd on the Ipod. I think that will be for the ride, oops, drive home.

Jethro at the moment.
Earlier I was dusting off some bass licks for a set I am playing at a benefit this weekend. "Green Eyed Lady", and that monster bass/piano part in the middle of "Devil Went Down To Georgia". It is very compartmentalized and must be counted out because it is impossible to pick up the que from the fiddle part and have it resolve in correct time at the end.

Gorillaz

Today is the day for

GORILLAZ - Demon Days Live

For those who have never heard of or seen the Gorillaz - I suggest you give a listen to this live masterpiece.

Gov't Mule - Holloween night in St. Paul. 2nd set is Led Zepplin's Houses of the Holy in its entirety. :rocker

Right now, I am listening to that fan on my computer go whirrrrrrrrrrrrr.
It's not that entertaining.

Does it sound anything like sitting in the Hollywood Hawaiian Hotel, listening to the air conditioner hum?
