Good looking with those wheels!:thumb What year?

hi, Eugene, she is a 1977 R100S 360,000 KM,s bought from a friend when he bought an 1983 RS , I had serviced it for him since 1980, with 47,000 KM,s so knew the bike well, recently converted back to an S from an RS, fairing was fitted back in 1985 , bought the Lester wheels new, at the national MOA rally in Rapid city South Dakota, part exchanging my wire ones,I always loved the add for them, it used to read (a bmw all dressed up and ready to go ) I still love them to this day, thank you for the interest ,ride safe, Jimmy:ca

Hi Terence

bike looks good, same as my rideing buddy,s, since passed on, great to be out, I love what you do with your photo,s I noticed in the oil head forum you have sold your r1100 s, I think if I were to sell my old airhead I would like an r110 s,but a r1100rt would be better suited to my 67 year old and overweight body, anyway all the best and ride safe,Jimmy :ca

Thanks Jimmy. Yes, the R1100S just didn't fit me that well any longer and it was time to get something more comfortable for longer trips I like to take. I think the RT will fit that bill.

Fresh out of the Garage

This is my newly transformed old, wore out, oil leaking, oil burning, slow and corroded up pile of ****. But loved it enough as to give it a second or third life. 1978 R60/7, many hours and many dollars can do wonders on an older bike. It now has modern ignition, nikasil cylinders, camshaft, seals, brakes, tires, suspension, exhaust, paint and what ever else it needed. Labor of love or only a parent could love it? Oh well, people thought I was nuts but when completed it turned out way better than I or anybody thought was possible. 800 cylinders with 600 heads and carbs, little to no info anywhere on this, so I did it with a new camshaft and 32/10 gears, it runs with any airhead now. 75-80 was a struggle before now 100 is nothing cruises effortlessly at freeway plus speeds and gets there quickly plus the sound of the Keihan conti mufflers is addicting so running through the gears is fun again. If anybody ever thought about it and didn't do it, well you missed out. I have never ridden an airhead before this, my friend have them, but when we go riding together, their following me most of the time. Top end still suffers some due to my 26mm restricter plates. But anything over 110 is jail time here. But a lot of fun was had. http://youtu.be/_SfGqD5xFvE image.jpg

After that run we did actually have it calibrated and it was off a bit, the next run was 192 mph. Here is a picture from my helmet cam viewing my tachometer.
