How have you gotten to the bottom of this? I can understand that if BMW says XXX wheels were initially produced and were bad, and now that the same number of replacement wheels were produced and distributed, then we could say the recall might be over. I've not heard of any discussion about the specifics to the numbers. Yet the recall remains in effect. Snowbum says on his website that while silver wheels 36 31 1 238 959 are no longer available, gold wheels 36 31 1 238 960 are still available and can be used for the recall.

This website page for the recall was last updated on 5/2/20 so he recently looked at it. I can't tell what he changed...his editing notes just say minor word changes.

1976 R90/6 in S trim...lookin' for a new home

After several years of enjoyable riding, arthritis is detracting greatly from the joy of riding. Sadly, time to move on.
