I'm lost ...

You said,

6. When you post your message, use the Attach File item, but don't preview your message!
.

I guess I'm thick but on the message format, I see the icon for insert an image, but when I click on that, I get a box that asks for the url. Where do I find the "Attach File Item"

use the paper clip icon it will then open a window and ask for the location of the file with a "browse" button next to it you can use to look at files on your computer.

It really works!

Rocket Man, thanks for the help. Easy when you know what you're looking for. Trouble is on my display of icons, the paper clip looks more like an exclamation point (to these weak eyes, it is very small). I have an older version of photoshop (5.0) and sized the image down to 300/xxx. Looks like for good scenics, I can double that and it should be just right.

use the "" tags not the [url]

as here

[img]http://vagabird.smugmug.com/photos/369097756_rW3fp-M.jpg

you can right-click on the image on your site to get the properties dialog box and cut and paste

also note it must end in a ".jpg" extension (or other graphic extension)

most sites have a way to generate the proper tags so you can then just cut and paste from that into the post on the forum.

And again

embed photo?

<img src="http://vagabird.smugmug.com/photos/369099647_p2sWU-M.jpg" width="600" height="450">

embed photo?

<img src="http://vagabird.smugmug.com/photos/369099647_p2sWU-M.jpg" width="600" height="450">

thats one way, again the other is to right click on the image on your site, then go to the bottom of the pup-up and click on the "Properties" option at the bottom, this will bring up a "properties" pop-up, then copy the info on the line marked "address", paste that here and put the tags around the text. if you quote any post with a picture you can see the formatting of the [img] tags.

Why would one want to download software that does essentially the same things
you can do with Windows Paint which is part of XP&Vista Accessories inc in Op sys?

Or KlourPaint which is inc in many Linux systems?
