Rider stopped at intersection killed by drunk driver.

Ahh--:drink :beer the joys of boating and drinking then driving then killing someone. :buds Makes me sick everytime I hear of it. But, most of the country doesnt care...we want our beer...anytime anywhere at ANY price. HOw long will we put up with it? Those stupid beer ads that tell us to "drink responsibly" are really working huh!

I have had exactly one (1) encounter with a drunk driver in my 26+ years of operating motor vehicles on public roads. I was rear-ended while sitting at a red light, on my way back to the office from lunch. It was about 1250. I was driving a pickup, he was driving a big '70s Mercury. He had been stopped behind me, but decided to just go on ahead, I guess. I was not injured, and the collision put a small crease in my rear bumper of an already-hail-damaged pickup.

I drink, but I hate drunks. I hate drunk drivers even more.

I hope the criminal justice system in MN prosecutes the (uninjured) drunken driver to the fullest extent.

You were one of the fortunate ones. I think most of us are probably more fortunate than we know with the magnitude of people who drink & drive who make it home safely without killing anyone & never get caught. More times than I can remember Ive called the police to report someone that appeared to be drunk but never were caught. Anymore, when I'm on the road I think of every car coming at me as a drunk driver who may cross the line into my lane.
Are we safe anymore? People are getting drunk at all times of the day. I dont hate anyone but I do hate what the beer & alcohol industry does to push their products....advertising during collegiate sports games & even targeting underage drinking with their tv ads..."look how beautiful you wil be when you drink" and "nothing bad ever happens to you when you drink" are their messages. Wheres the truth in advertising?
Our society could care less...alcohol is available almost everywhere you go...most gas stations are now bars with more cold beer available than cold soda or water. DUH...you have cold beer in the car-why wait til you get home...:drink
someone please prove me wrong!
just MHO
