When asked this question, the newspaper replied that, due to the wet pavement, there was nothing to stop it from sliding off onto the grass.

.... but being "unstuck" is still something because 'un-' clearly suggests some sort of existing and tangible entity and releasing from that 'entity' still identifies you as only existing because of that preexisting entity. Ipso facto you remain something.
