Jesse bag problem

I bought a new set of Jesse bags for my '06 r1200gs. I'm happy with the bags, but have an issue. I use a duffel to transport my clothing, shaving bag etc. When the duffel is full, it is a close fit putting into and out of the Jesse bag. I noticed that the tang that holds the cam lock in the locked position on the inside of the Jesse bag was actually cutting the duffel as I put it into the Jesse bag, and even more so taking it out.

Has anyone experienced this and worked a solution?

Milk jug handle

I had the same problem.I cut the curved handle off of a milk jug and slid it over the tang. JERRY
