How many amateur radio operators out there?

Use to be KA5YNK, but it has long expired.

Always had a blast at contests but figuring out and fixing up the old glowing rigs was my thing.

motorcycles, ham radio...

I'm looking for a place to put a Diamond SG7500 VHF/UHF antenna on my 2004 RT. I ran across this thread which contained ham calls, and it seemed like a good place to get suggestions.

I have a feeling it's not going to be a pretty install, no matter where it goes...

tnx!

In celebration of gaining my Extra, I shopped around for a vanity call - promptly falling in love and actually won the lottery out of well over 20 applicants. I do like sports cars and dogs, and dabbled painting with pastels.

I briefly considered installing a radio, or at least an antenna for my HT, but decided a cell phone and HT in the tank bag was about as much stuff as I am willing to add - trying to stay as lean as possible.

scaring up an old thread. W0WLA here looking to possibly put vhf/uhf radio on the '09 RT

I had a FTM-10 Yaesu on the F800GS for a while. I thought the benefit of having an FM radio (music) would be a plus. Antenna was mounted to a bracket on the license plate. External speaker was needed.
In short, I thought the radio was great. The application on a motorcycle I found was less than optimum and later removed it. not sure how to make it go or work better.
If you try something, post it up. Perhaps you will find a better solution or set up. .... ..
