Is it normal for the Rear Suspension to Click when you hit little seams in the road

:dunno This may be normal, but does not seam normal. This is my First BMW, a 2007 R1200RT, has approx. 1000 Miles on it. Noticed that with My bride on back the rear suspension makes a clicking noise or clunking sound when we would run over an imperfection in the road, (Crack, seam, bump. etc.) This is my first shaft drive machine. Harley Convert!!! Is this sound normal?

I would appreciate any education you can provide me.

Ps
I am absolutely impressed with this bikes performance, ride, handling etc. Have a new Rick Myers seat coming though. (Stock seat is torture after about 1 hr.) The wife has no complaints though.

Is it bottoming?

Does the RT have a floating rear brake rotor? This sort of noise was common on the K1200LT.

BMW dealers are pretty astute at diagnosing problems. I suggest you stop by a dealer, ask someone to take a test ride, and give you an opinion. There shouldn't be any charge. If there's a safety or maintanance issue, it would be better to get it solved immediately.
