I have a 2000 K1200LT with a manual center stand. I would really like to convert this to an electric center stand. Has anyone tried to retrofit the new stand to an older K1200LT? Yea I know, the manual stand is not that difficult, well its not that easy either.

Thanks

The hydraulic actuator alone lists for $995 at maxbmwmotorcycles.com!!! That doesn't include the supporting parts and the electrical stuff.

Yes this has been done by at least one LT owner. When the BMWLT website is back in service (Monday maybe) I think there was at least technical write-up about doing this change over. I.e. parts required, possible power sources etc.

If you are patient once in a while there a stand listed for sale from a trike conversion or a wrecked bike.

NOTE: FYI there have been several reports of these failing.
