Re-Post/Cross-Post 600 Mile Service

Posted this on the Chain Gang Forum and got good answers...trolling for any additional input.

After reading the Chain Gang FAQ and the manual and everything I could find and speaking to my service manager, I chose to do the 600 mile service on my daughter's F650GS '03 myself.

Followed and applied all info properly (I am a junior journeyman home mechanic with Army maintenance training since 1972) except, of course for the fault read-out from the hard to get computer. No problems encountered.

So, the niggling little voice in my head sez, "what did you miss?"

What would the BMW dealer/service techs do or find that I might be ingorant enough to miss completely.

I do understand documenting the effort and potentially arguing with BMW if a warranty issue arises. Anything else?

Thx

I think you can get an itemized list from the dealer that will list every action they perform at the 600 mile service.

It's just a checklist.
