The Wisconsin DNR considers Highway 64 E-W as the dividing line between the Northern Forest lands and the Southern Farm lands. Hwy 64 runs about 30 miles north of the 45 degree north parallel.
On your trip to Wisconsin, remember that any direction you arrive from you can have a excellent "Big Bore Adventure ride".
If you arrive from around the top of Lake Michigan, consider doing the Marquette County Waterfall tour, as it is a great GS ride. In Wabeno, Nicolet National Forest area, I just rode the WDS/AMA Suzuki National Adventure Riding event and I tell you it was a challenge. Heads up for sugar sand!
A little heads-up about the waterfall tour, in The Rockies these waterfalls would be called rapids or a cascade.
