    Cool Tips and Tricks/Newbie Stuff

So on the new forum it would be cool if there were two Newbie Forums.

    1) New Riders/Owners - perhaps model specific
    2) Forum Tips and Tricks. like how to find just the new posts, set up subscriptions. Put topics like oil filters on the personal kill list

    I Don't Believe It....

I just (10/20...snore) emailed KBasa about the same thing! I don't have the flight rules down for this thing. Stuff about timeouts, subscribing (& un) to threads. I requested a "sticky", at the root of all forums, to allow newbies & Ludites (me) to get the lowdown instead of discovering it like in an adventure game. I suspect the others just figure we've been around the block & know this stuff (a faultless assumption). I'd really go for an outline format...."If your here...This is what governs it" I have a hard time believing I'm alone in favoring said.

P.S. Sorry 'bout bugging ya KBasa, I figured a moderator would be a reasonable person to turn to. TNK Sarge <<<)))

Good idea, dudes. Sarge, sorry if I didn't follow through on that. This forum is an attempt by us to build a real list of things to do with not only the forum, but the entire website.

Tonight, I resized a picture in one of the posts (it was pretty big) and I was thinking that if the user had known how to resize a picture, he probably would have done so.

So yeah, a sort of primer would be a good thing.

    Personally ...

I still don't have the pictures thing figured out -- even after reading the FAQ's, and getting Kbasa to explain it via PM.

So, I think a bit of trial and error will be unavoidable. Perhaps a "Test Board" could be made availalble as an online practice area?

If nothing else, keep the Online Central section as an online school for newbies ... and slow to catch on oldies.

Kind of. The FAQ does a pretty good job, but it does not do things like tell you how to create a link that will take you to new posts immediattely or how to include pictures.

Something that is a little more pictoral and instructive. "To include a picture in your post: 1) Reply or Post. 2) IMG...."
