Do we have a directory that lists the articles from BMWON posted on this websight somewhere? I thought I saw one a few years ago but I'm not finding it now.

Just an idea I had about the tech articles that have been published in the ON, why not offer a bound magazine which has all the tech articles which have been published in the ON, like the one's from Matt and Paul, I think it would be a useful resource as I've thought about taking my Magazines and copying articles to have them all in one place.
Any ideas and who might I contact in the MOA, to see if this would be worth the MOA pursuing, hey they could make some money from it.
Just an idea.

I do articles of a sort I suppose. Webpages really. I only have two up, one for a K bike seat lock repair (the result of an eBay deal gone awry) and the other for a lighting modification I recently did to my /7. I'm working on one for DIY repairs on a cracked /7 seatpan with a lift-off modification. That one is going to take awhile. I also do plastic welding and fiberglass repairs but I only have a couple of glass fenders needing repairs at the moment. I think an article on fixing cracked Krauser luggage might be good though. Perhaps I'll find some to play with.

First let me say I seriously considered withdrawing from MOA when Sandy got the sack. I wasn't so much angered by the decision the board made to combine the magazine with the forum and internet operations as I was the fact that I didn't feel like Sandy was dealt with fairly. Kind of reminds me when Jerry Jones (Dallas cowboy owner) sacked Tom Landry. It was his right to hire whatever coach he wanted but it was done in a less than honorable manner.
THAT SAID:
How can you say the magazine is bland and has changed for the worse? I still see articles, thank you Mr. Parkhouse, about airheads. BMW has a wide variety of motorcycles now and the magazine does a good job of covering all of them.
In retrospect I think the magazine is still good and the website is fantastic.
If you want to read bland boring magazines try Honda's Red Riders mag.
It is nothing but Factory advertising. Blah Blah Blah..
I am happy with MOA as it is thank you very much.

Well - not to be a contrarian - but I distinctly recall Mandy posting in the Airhead forum, the K bike forum, and the Oilhead forum that tech articles were wanted. That's a fairly broad brush request for tech stuff for the older as well as the newer models.
I consider that "stepping forward and asking for articles ...."

I have a 72 R75/5 basket case in the basement. It truly came in boxes.
I'm about to learn a lot about it.
I'm willing to write it's stories and trials and errors. It won't be a restoration, it is going to be a cafe.
It's name: Project Thunder.![]()
OOOOooooo... I love reading those.
Ok. Give me a week or so to get organized
I , for one, would appreciate more articles, etc, on airheads. I believe that BMWON has moved beyond them for the most part. I know time moves on, but still so many still on the road..
I know this has been discussed thousands of times but here I go. My 1970/5 has run perfect for 8,000 miles since I bought it. Suddenly after a 40 mile 70 mph ride to get home before dark it started popping and wants to stall. I have to keep blipping the throttle and it just does not run or start smooth like it did. I'm not a mechanic, I usually do basic stuff, tires, oil, brakes, never internal engine or carb stuff. I have always carried extra points, plugs and condenser? Don't know why I could'nt change if I had to but is this where I should start? Or would the carbs be a better guess. One note about 2,000 miles ago a nice friend on a BMW replaced points for me along the road because the previous ones were installed wrong and pinched the wire and it burnt off and the bike just shut off. He used a cigarette box to gap the points and it ran as perfect as ever so I never bothered to have the gap reset? (Because I don't know how). Also the engine is an early 70's 900 not the original 600 complete motor not converted replaced and it was new so the engine only has about 8,000 on it and was built by Craig at Heritage BMW. The previous owner was a collector so the bike and mechanics are perfect. Help please or she's on a trailer and to BOB's.

agree. parkhouse is really it in the mag on airheads. what about a spotlight on individuals and their airhead or airheads that are still being ridden? Like the father and son rebuild article a while back from NM I believe. I would rather see that than a plug article for PIAA or 8 pages of possible xmas gifts.
Persuade Jack Riepe to purchase an airhead. I could read that guys writing all day.
By the way, those bikes are great looking Jon-Lars.
