Overlooking two river systems, the Oconomowoc on the east and the Little Oconomowoc to its west. Both rivers are connected to a major grouping of lakes just south of the Washington County line. The whole area is filled with woods and marshes. Directly to the east of Holy Hill lies Glacier Hills County Park.

# Turn left and head west on Highway 167 to Holy Hill. The exit for the shrine is Carmel Road. Some of the more scenic back roads can be accessed from county Highway K, county Highway Q, Monches Road and Hubertus Road, which is an extension of Freistadt.
# Upon leaving the Holy Hill area, head west and turn left on Highway 83.
# Follow 83 into North Lake, then turn left and head east on county Highway VV. Follow VV, which turns into Silver Spring Road, back to Highway 45.

Bubbler is a trademarked name that refers to a drinking fountain. The Bubbler was developed in 1888 by the then-small Kohler Company in Kohler, Wisconsin, which was already well-known for its faucet production. While Harlan Huckleby is credited with the actual design, it was Kohler that patented it and trademarked the name.

The Bubbler concept took off and there were many copies. Since the name was trademarked, other companies named their fountains "The Gurgler" and "The Gusher". In the end, the generic term "drinking fountain" became the standard term used in American English for a device that shoots water into the air for purpose of drinking.

The bubbler term is still used in several regional dialects of the United States such as in Wisconsin (mostly in the southeast part of the state, centered on Milwaukee, where it is considered part of the local dialect; residents of southeastern Wisconsin often state that the term is used within a "five county radius," however, the term's use has spread throughout the region, beyond five counties in the area.

Some people only call ones that are outdoors "bubbler" and some vice versa. Some residents of Milwaukee refer to them as "water bubbler". Most residents of southern Wisconsin refer to water fountains, both indoor and outdoor, as "bubbler". From Wikipedia http://www.bratwurstpages.com/dialect.html

I took this photo at night, with my PIAA 910 shining on the church. I was to use it as my Christmas Card. It did not turn out like I liked. I was going to go back this spring and do a Full Moon between the steeple shot and also a daytime shot.

The photo a night shot of the 1854 Historic St Louis Church, about 4 blocks from my house. It burned out last week, and will be torn down this week. It was part of Fond Du Lac skyline for 150 years.

This photo is not one of my best shots, but now is one of my favorites Wisconsin shots.

Blanding's Turtle

Legal Status in Wisconsin:
Threatened

A road presents a major hazard, but even worse the loss of wet-lands - with adjacent territory - provide the stable environment needed for the well-being of the Blanding's turtle. Without this stable environment, the future of this and many other species is threatened.

I helped this turtle cross the roadway.
