Ride to work (video)

Just thought i would post my morning commute to work, on a k1200s
with some long shadows. Mostly non-stop

Hi Vince, first thanks to you and the others involved for a great job with the web and ON! I have see leaps and bounds in innovations and services in the last year far exceeding all the prior ones together. My cam setup is fairly cheap (~$700) but i made the mistake of getting some dated technology

Your camcorder needs a/v inputs, firewire (1394) and a LANC connector. The Lanc allows for a remote control. My Sony TRV 460 does not have LANC and uses Digital 8 which is good for only an hour.

I was really frustrated with the darn thing turning itself off due to the easy
access on\off switch. Fixed with a rubber band

The remote cam is a 640x480 from http://www.helmetcamera.com.

For my track days I had it in a tank bag which was clumsy and got in my way
leaning into corners



So when i went to Branson I bought the biggest fanny pack I could
That works a bit better and gives me mobility to switch bikes. I carry
the whole setup in the fanny pack in the saddlebag and put it on when ready
Here is the package:



Note the rubber band on the camcorder and alignment marks on the helmet. I put the mike in a separate pocket on the fanny pack. I use velcro to secure the camera to the face shield and looped the wire to provide strain relief. The only other extras are the larger btty for the camcorder which is good for 3 hours and the rechargeable AAs.
