In January when Sharon decided she was going to run the Anchorage Marathon in June I thought it would be a great opportunity to rent a BMW in Alaska and ride around for a week. All of the BMW rental companies were booked up. So I posted and enquiry on ADVrider if anyone knew of any other sources. Steve Sanchez (Steve-O) also an MOA member repsonded to me and said I could use his 1987 K100LT. "Just give me some money for tires and an oil change." Motorcycling Alaska was now on!

Day 1 & 2 - Anchorage

We arrived in Anchorage and I was immediately attacked by a Grizzly Bear..

Sharon finished her marathon in 7 hours 22 minutes with one sore knee and 3 big blisters. She raised over $5000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Summit Lake was like glass. It was a photographer's wet dream. We both agreed that this was the most beautiful spot on the whole trip.

Burnzilla,

You are very very lucky there's no corn in that soup because the Alaska Fish and Game would fine you for illegal chumming. Yessir, it looks like frenchfries and catsup to me. One other thing, did you eat the bubbles or did they manifest later during the distilling process. :huh

Seriously though, I'm glad you and Sharon had a safe and fun trip. It was great to meet you. Hopefully, we'll see ya on the road sometime again.

:wave
