    Yeah, makes no sense. Never heard such a thing. Maybe the item you're looking at isn't really a mixture screw??? It has to be on the outside.

    Idle mixture is the big silver screw with its slot shown "horizontal"... on the outside, underneath, inboard of the throttle return spring.

    I'm equally surprised. It's weird how things like this will happen while just sitting. Thanks everyone for your help. Don't ask me what what I was thinking or saw but the idle mixture screw was right where it was supposed to be when I looked this morning LOL. Duh!
