navigator 6 in navigator 4 cradle

I have a navigator 6 I use on my new bike. I also have a mount from a navigator 4 off of a bike I sold. I want to use the old mount on a different bike to use the nav. 6 . I don't remember which wires are used to power the mount. It has a split cord with two plugs. One plug has two wires one white and one brown. I don't believe this plug was ever connected to anything. The other plug has three wire one red, one purple and one black. Does anyone know which wire is positive and which is negative. Also does anyone know for sure if the nav6 is compatible with the nav 4 mount.
