Error code on dash -2009 K1300GT

Tonyfr

Are we there yet?
I have this code on the dash OIL---!. I checked the oil after a ride as per the owners manual and the level is okay. GS-911 says oil level is deficient. Am I looking at a new oil level sensor in the oil tank? Has anyone seen this error before?

Is the lamp and code reappearing after the codes have been cleared with GS-911?

Haven’t seen that error on my K13GT, but before jumping into a new sensor I’d trace the wires and check connections. If that checks good, remove the sensor stack and verify that the float isn’t stuck.

Best,
DeVern

Code reappears after being cleared and a hot ride down the interstate. I removed and checked the sensor, but it didn't look bad. I found a used one from a bike with 20k miles, so I'll try that one. The dealer price for the sensor is $226.00

After removing the old sensor it might be informative to probe both sensors with a VOM, checking for continuity and resistance readings.

Best,
DeVern
