Hello All,

New member here, sort of. IIRC I joined back in 2000 when I owned an R1200CE. Over the years I’ve gone through many bikes and now primarily ride an electric (Energica Ribelle). I didn’t think I would go back to an ICE bike but after a road trip to Reno this year for the annual rib fest, I realized I didn’t like the added time my charging stops took. I decided to look for a used ICE touring bike and found a really nice 2016 R1200RT that I’m hoping to take delivery of this weekend or early next week at the latest.

I mainly plan on using my new to me Beemer for overnight and weekend rides during the fall and spring when temps aren’t too hot or cold. My wife had a bad experience as a passenger the last time I had a large touring bike (Victory Cross County Tour) due to summer heat so she stopped riding with me for a while.

Looking forward to meeting some of you and learning about the wet head motor. :)

Welcome from NW Ohio bigpoppa! I'm confident you will enjoy the new ride. A pic or two of the RT (once you take possession) is always appreciated.

ex-Sonoma County Beemer rider

Okay, I am currently a 09 R1200RT-P rider and ex Sonoma County BSA rider, to be more specific.

The Beemer Bikes are lovely rides. It is hard to find fault, but some claim they are expensive to operate. I have not run enough miles to confirm or deny, but they sure seem reliable to me. One thing for certain, they handle beautifully and roll down the road with comfort and confidence.
