Hello all, just thought I would make a post and introduce myself. I just recently got my first bmw bike earlier this year (an S1000R) which my wife swore was a midlife crisis decision. I genuinely did love that bike, but After 4 months and 5000km, I went to the local dealer for a BMW ride and drive. I got my first taste of a GS and Within 5 minutes of riding it, i knew the s1k was going to be traded in. I was stuck on the 750 due to my shorter inseam, but after some research on lowering a 1250 and taking one for a long drive, the decision was made! Absolutely no regrets for either purchase, but living in a bedroom community that backs onto atv/dirt bike trails and commuting 60km highway everyday, this is a much better fit. The ergos are also much nicer for my midlife body, and I’m glad I have somewhere to put my laptop bag and not need to use a backpack.
It’s a 2022 r1250GS triple black, mods so far are vario panniers, outback lower crash bars, touratech lowering progressive springs, grips, nav vi (replaced connected cradle; nothing but issues), Denali canbus/horn/taillight setup, and a bunch of small/random
Stuff from AliExpress
We live right in the center of Canada in the prairies so there aren’t much in the way of twisty roads, but there is enough rougher stuff to be entertaining.
