Final Drive Rebuild

Looking for recommendations for a reputable shop to rebuild the final drive from my 2008 K1200GT? Thanks.

You’re in PA, so I’d recommend Tom Cutter at Rubber Chicken Racing Garage in Yardley, PA. I’ve had him do two FDs and a transmission over the years and have always been satisfied with the work. http://rubberchickenracinggarage.com/

Another option would be Anton Largiader at Virginia Motorrad Werkstatt, http://www.largiader.com/

Best,
DeVern

I wish Tom Cutter was an option as I live 25 minutes from him. He had my drive for the last 4 years and had yet to rebuild it so I picked it up today and am looking for another option. Thanks for the recommendations.

4 years? Did you communicate with him in that 4 years? Did he reach out to you in those 4 years?

That's a very long time to service a drive. His reputation suffers with your post. I'm glad you mentioned it, he's off the list of potential drive rebuilders.

Yes, I did communicate with him periodically over the 4 years. No, he didn't reach out to me at all. I had to initiate all communication.
Tom has suffered some health issues and isn't able to work in his shop as of now. I left the drive with him in hopes that he'd get back to work and repair it but, I simply can't wait any longer.

Lets hope his health improves and he can continue to rebuild drives.

It always saddens me when I hear that someone has retracted for the motorcycle world, something they've loved, because of health issues.
