Currently around here, the concept is too bourgeois and not allowed. Perhaps like galvanized metal roofs that were considered "poor folk" building material that became "trendy" once it became available in colors, the efficiency of what can be done with shipping containers will catch on.

In the southern Big Bend area of Texas, specifically the Terlingua Ranch, Study Butte, Terlingua, Big Bend National Park, and the rest of South Brewster County area, containers, prefab little sheds, school busses and yurts are everpresent and unregulated. Our 1,500 sq.ft adobe house on 32 acres is the exception, not the rule.

There are several coming together around us…see what I did there :lol

This one has been growing for about four years and has evolved since this picture. Multi levels, breezeways, and a great view. I’m not as fond of multiple stairway’s anymore, so, would prefer less height!

This young couple in the PNW have done a great job and some stories of challenges including fire evacuation recently
