Cerakote for exhaust pipes?

I bought a R 1200Rt, 2007 and the previous owners didn't do the best job on cleaning. The pipes look like crap nice rusty brown cow poop color. Local muscle car shop does Crekote for less than new chrome pipes. Frankly I think a nice mat black finish would compliment things.

Thoughts or experiences???

Have coatings on a few bikes, one is a polished silver. My RT had flat black and only issues were after riding through construction in NM with red clay wet road and end of day baked on terra cotta! H’s Roadster showed it worse and was able to steel wool off… mostly :banghead

It’s not lack of care, the single wall headers just discolor with time. Chromed option vs. stainless seemed to last a bit longer.
