f900r replacement seat

Grandpa Jim
Bought a 2021 F900R in mid-March. Enjoying the bike very much except...my 70-something butt is very uncomfortable after about 1 hour on the road. I'm strongly considering the Sargent seat: it's fairly priced (with the Rally discount), and Sargent offers a 30-day full refund if I'm not satisfied. It almost seems that there's no great risk here. Any thoughts are much appreciated. Jim, Chicago

I recently took Sargent up on their 30 day return.
They were very nice about it.
Don't know what your riding position is on your model.

Same age as you, riding an R nine T Racer.
With the forward lean, the seat was worse than the original.
If I sat up straight, it felt better.

Keep in mind they don't refund the $20 shipping charge, and it cost me $30 to ship back to them.
Better than eating the whole price.

Thanks for the input. I am aware of the need to pay return shipping if it comes to that. I'm hoping that the replacement seat allows for longer seat time, even if no a perfect match for my anatomy.

I know nothing about your bike but I put a Sargent on my Suzuki DR650 and the comfort level jumped tenfold. With that, I would not be afraid to try a Sargent on any bike.

I don't know your preference, but when I ordered the seat directly from Sargent you have the option of getting the seat without that gaudy looking welt. My opinion, of course. Instead you get the nice stitched option without the welt if you so desire. I always felt those welts are part of the discomfort for me.

Good thoughts...
I ordered the seat with a blue welting as a "fashion statement", but you've got me thinking about the comfort aspect. I'll call them Monday and inquire.
Thank you!
Jim, Chicago
