Responsible Dog Parents

dlowry

bored, bored ...
Hey, I just wanted to say thanks to all the responsible dog parents at the rally. You kept your dog on leads and they were awesome when we met you.

To the irresponsible ones, near the RV's and Airheads camping site, that let your dogs run free and piss on my and other people's tents, I can't tell you how much I appreciate having to clean you dog's piss off my tent two mornings in a row. If you won't control them, please leave them at home.

That is all.

Thanks for saying that. Glenlivet is a saint among dogs, the end result of months of patient, consistent training. To those thinking of bringing your dog(s) to any public event I’d encourage you to Google “Canine Good Citizen” and consider those requirements as a baseline for determining whether or not you (both dog and human) are ready.

Frank

Frank was my neighbor during the rally, he really liked my new motovan.

Frank's human had him on a very long leash, long enough to reach under my van and up into the shade. ;)

I love dogs, and lord knows dogs love me, but a motorcycle rally isn't the place for dogs.

If ya gotta bring them, I certainly understand. But... beyond a leash, obedience to the commands "sit, stay, heel & no".... and the all-important "go lay down" is recommended. :wave
