Motorcycle Trip - June 2022 OR-WA-MT-ID

Screenshot 2022-06-22 065949.jpgFor over a year Bill Selkirk, Bob Hamlin and I had been planning a motorcycle trip in the Pacific Northwest. Riding from Boise Idaho to Stevenson Washington and then with Bob and friend Clint exploring the Cascade mountains and its volcano's and then looping down the Washington coast before heading back to Idaho. It was a great plan that was coming together, but mother nature had other ideas. One of the wettest Junes in recent history changed our plans due to heavy rain, snow and a number of closed roads. That trip will have to happen at a later date. This is the one that Bill and I did take which covers 1,994 miles of 4 and 5 star blue highways in the states of Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Montana. The trip took ten riding days. Two of the days were short due to heavy rain and cold conditions which took much of the fun out of the riding so we stop early and explored some interesting town that we would have otherwise just ridden through.

We rode the North Cascades National Park, Victoria BC, the Hoh Rain Forest, then down to the Oregon coast and over to Mt St Helens several years back. The forecast for the Hoh Rain Forest was 80% rain. We had no rain that day!
