Well This Was an Odd Thing to Happen

I installed new auxiliary lights last weekend. Today, I decided to change the lens to yellow. When I got to one bolt, the nut backed off a few turns, then froze. I couldn't loosen it anymore nor tighten it. I've delt with frozen bolts before, but this is the first time I had to cut off new nut and bolt that were installed four days ago.

Were the nut and bolt stainless? Stainless fastners can gall if spun too fast or if the clearances are too tight. Sometimes they can be a real pain!

You are correct. They were stainless. I was planning on using some antiseize on them after I changed the lens. I didn't think the short time together without some would be an issued.

Most of the time they are fine, but sometimes out of the blue, they just decide to make your day shall we say “less than pleasurable”.
