Any Advice on insurance for ADV riding?

I live on the east coast and im flying out to California to take the rawhyde intro to adventure course. I looked into medjet coverage but it only covers you if you are sick enough to require hospital care. If you break your leg and are released after surgery, Medjet wont help me get back to the east coast. Anyone know of coverage you can buy that will cover the situation where you are well enough to be at home but cannot fly commercial air due to casts etc?

Thanks in advance,

Eric

SkyMed. My understanding is that if you are injured to the extent you can’t ride the bike they will get you home on doctor’s orders/certification that you can’t ride, but without requiring hospitalization.

SkyMed covers all medical transportation that is not covered by your other insurance. On a trip, from your home, between hospitals, back to your home, ground or air. Also pays for a companion in most cases and will ship your bike home as well.

Call Travis Leeman at SkyMed at 404-205-0729 and ask your questions. If you decide to pull the trigger ask about discounts. When I bought at the RA Rally I received two discounts, one for being at the Rally and the other for military service. Bought it for both me and the wife. It was five years of coverage for about $2,500. Also got a few months extra coverage for some reason. I look at it as something we may have to use other than when we or I am riding. Could be be on vacation someplace and need to get someplace with better care fast.

Good Luck
