R1200GS crash guard suggestions

Specifying a year makes a difference on the GS. For 2013.5 and up, I like the Givi stainless steel bars I just installed. The mounts and bars are solid but GIVI INSTRUCTIONS ARE TOTAL JUNK. These were very reasonably priced, about 2/3 or less the price of BMW guards, and one very important factor for me was that they would fit in conjunction with the MachineArtMoto X-guards I already had on the valve covers.

I do not like the Givi guards for the earlier R1200GS bikes because of the expansion sleeve mounts that Givi uses on those bikes for the upper rear mounts on the guards.

YMMV, as always.

Best,
DeVern

It's a 2012 R1200GS. Thanks for the input. Online it's tough to see the differences between various options and the posted reviews are often for a difference bike. Anyone else have experience with something they like on this bike?
