which way for my fuel filter to point / 1991 K75 RT

I took the fuel filter out of the tank on my 1991 K 75 RT ,but didn't pay attention to which way the arrow pointed . One end goes into the long rubber hose connected to the tank ,the other goes to a short hose connected to a steel tube .

I forgot I'd asked it , I asked a lot of other questions too, ( and got all good answers ) .
I have my new tires on the bike and the filter is changed , I was just back here to be sure everyhing was right ..
Thanks for puting up with all my questions . ( Probably more to come before long ) ..
