does anyone have any advice on what would be a good replacement seat for this bike.

Welcome to the forum!
Of all the seating posts across all the models, the Russell Day-long seats seem to get the most favorable reviews. They are in California butt have a “remote” plan for those that can’t have a drive in fitting.
Good luck. Let us know how you make out.

RDL wanted pictures of myself and my wife on the bike. Some other info as well. I sent them my seat(s) from my '16 RT, a few weeks later they came back. Russell uses your OEM seat pan, you choose materials and design. They can fit whatever you're riding. I've been very happy with mine. Hope that helps.

I went with the Russell on my GS and although it sticks out as a little unsightly (hell, doesn't the whole GS platform?? :laugh), I love the comfort it gives. It's truly an all day seat and I haven't looked back. It is spendy though. It reminds me of an old tractor seat that wraps around your buns, giving you a well rounded deal of support and comfort. I'd do it again.

It's a Bagger, Mike. You're supposed to go cruisin on it. That's where the many BMW Tourers may be a bit more practical... :dunno

My GT's stock seat at a BMWBMW Slack-Pack, with my BeadRider taxi beads, as we put up our "new-2-us" TimeOut pop-up camper in 2018... https://beadrider.com

There's more than one way to skin a cat.... :bliss
And cheaper too... :thumb

Russell Day Long! They make the best seat IMHO and you can also have them add a back rest
