Removing factory side stand on '93 R100RS

Have the Farley sidestand mounted. Attempting to remove factory self folding stand. Have return springs off stand however, there is a stop plate which will not allow stand to slide off. Is it necessary to slide front engine mount bolt enough that plate can be removed or slide out of way so hopefully side stand will then slide off?

In short yes but you must reinstall the stop plate as it's an integral spacer.
