Just returned from a 6 month ride around the US, rode in all but 8 states, & glad to return safely. Now that I've ridden in the lower 49, I'm interested in researching a ride to AK/Prudhoe Bay. Grateful for any info, links, books, etc...so I can figure out how to make it a fun & safe ride. Thnx!

Sure Happy It's Thursday, Greg!
Good 4 U on the conclusion of your epic CoddiWomple! Six months on the road is by definition a CoddiWomple! Hope U had your flag issued in March... :brow

We concluded our western Coddiwomple in Augest (only 8 weeks on the road), but 2 toodling all around Alaska.
We decided to Fly & Rent from MotoQuest because Canada never decided to open its doors until late in the summer.

If ya wanna go to the Arctic Circle, be sure to request the proper Aggressive tires {we chose to avoid it after riding to Fairbanks in the rain}.

Learned about this outfit while visiting the Reindeer farm in Palmer:

Rental Season: May 15th - Sept 15th

Everybody rides their own ride when it comes to Alaska; that's how it goes up there.
Had two relaxing nights at the Antler's Rest B&B outside Glenallen after departing Anchorage. Gotta get down to Valdez!!!

We encountered this group of FANatics while ordering carry-out Thai food because we rode the Glenallen Hwy on July 3rd - it's now a 4th of July ritual!

Another Exceptionally Cool place was the Lodge at Black Rapids near McCallum on the Richardson Hwy!

Spent a wonderful night there before riding the Denali Highway westward (an easy ride if Dry).

And Don't miss the Chatanika Lodge & Restaurant along the Steese Hwy (NE of Fairbanks)!

And Don't miss the Chena Hot Springs Resort!!! Their Big season is in the winter... Tell Bernie Karl 'HEY' from Phil & Karen.

Enjoyed the 'ambiance' and the local musicians at the Malemute Saloon in Ester, NW of Fairbanks!

Had good food & beer at the Glacier Brewing Company in Anchorage...

Don't overlook "downtown" Talkeetna, ~12 miles off the Parks Hwy. Kind of a loosie-goosey hippie community...

Be sure to get an up-to-date copy of The Milepost; always handy for random campgrounds & lodging & PETROL...
Don't count on every gas station shown in Garmin to be open or to have gas. I TOOK MY OWN Garmin GPS!

That should get your Alaska trip planning off to a good start. Good Luck with your eXpedition!

Ciao! :drink
