5-hour ride through western TN, Stopped a Pickwick dam for a break before heading up to Savannah for lunch then back to the Memphis area via highway 57.
Glad you're able to eXplore your neighborhood on your RT. We [the AlaBeemers] had our quarterly meeting in May at the Pickwick Dam State Park & Lodge. It was a nice venue, but the staff was frazzled (all due to covid). We (Team HSV) wanted to try the Joe Wheeler State Park further down river, but they were closed because of maintenance due to a tornado strike. Keep an eye on our club's activities... >> https://www.bmwmoal.org/meetings.php << We might do next May's meeting at either place...
Keep the shiny side Up; enjoy the rest of your summer of '21! Ciao!

Glad U shared Ur ride. West Tennessee will never get the recognition it deserves; compared to central Tn., and no doubt that eastern Tn. gets all the recognition it deserves due to the mountains. That said western Tn. has nice pastoral rolling hill country riding. Along the rivers are entertaining; that includes the Mississippi, Tennessee, Forked Deer, Hatchie, and Wolf Rivers are examples. A side note, if U see Ghost River; that’s a nick name for the Wolf River. There’s also some nice museums along the way. Examples are the Casey Jones Museum in Jackson, West Tn. Museum in Brownsville, it’s a really good museum of music history; good stuff on Tina Turner and Carl Perkins, early Rockabilly. All good stuff. I like the area between the Miss. River and Highway 51 between Memphis and Union City. The Dixie Gun Works is a good visit. My favorite bike stop is always ShakeRag just west of Millington and Sunday is always bike day. Good pub grub and biker comradery. So if Ur stuck in this area U can do some entertaining riding. Ride and enjoy.
