1996 R1100RT How to tie down the R1100RT for trailering.

Hi All I'm in the process of moving from Minnesota to Mt. Juliet Tennessee. I'll be trailering my bikes, one being the RT, and was planning on strapping the front end down the traditional way, straps around the lower triple clamps. But of course that won't work on the RT. So, it looks like the strapping point is around the fork legs, just above the cross brace. see pic. For those of you experienced at this, is this correct?

Yes. Down by the front forks is right. Just don’t pinch the brake hose.

Do a search for tiedown2.pdf. You should get a link for that document showing tie down of an Oilhead, or maybe a Chromehead.

Thanks for the input. I did find tiedown2.pdf, very good. And, I will definitely not miss the cold or shoveling the snow.. We had two days this past winter when it hit -30F, real temp not wind chill.
